Legion National Youth Track & Field Championships
Think you’re fast? Are you an athlete in Southern Alberta who has a reputation for speed, strength or endurance? Do you want a chance to challenge other athletes from across Canada and see how you rank?
Coming this summer… Legion Nationals in CALGARY!
It is very unlikely that Alberta will host this national competition again in the near future as it is often hosted in Eastern Canada. Edmonton hosted it in 2005. To compete, athletes must achieve qualifying standards as outlined in the Legion Nationals Technical Manual. The Championships are open to both boys and girls in the following age categories: U16: 15 years and under, as of December 31 in the year of the championships and U18: 17 years and under, as of December 31 in the year of the championships. If your U16 or U18 athlete would like to come and train with us, our experienced coaches can help prepare them for the competition. We have made Wind Track and Field Club’s prices very affordable compared to other clubs, to ensure southern Alberta is well represented at the event!
Practices will be in Cardston from 4-6pm (days to be determined - either Mon, Wed, Sat or Tues, Thurs, Sat) starting in April and running until the end of June (with extra practices for those who meet qualifying standards for nationals). A week long training camp will kick start preparation. Message us with your email if you’d like to receive more information about this opportunity for your athlete(s).
